Since its foundation, TÜBİTAK National Observatory (TUG) has supported the young academicians who are being trained in the astronomy and space science as well as other engineering fields such as physics, mechanics, engineering with internship programmes. Considering the scientific and technical studies carried out in TUG, it is possible to have an internship in our observatory according to decision no. 27805 of Turkish Ministry of National Education (M.E.B) on April 4, 2003. Accordingly, the TUBITAK National Observatory will implement the following internship program for summer 2018.


- Astronomy and Space Science

- Space Science and Technology

- Computer / Software Engineering

- Electrical Engineering

- Mechatronic Engineering




The internship lasts for 25 workdays at most. Some of the requirements before application are as follows: Total GPA being greater than or equal to 2.50, or being currently in second grade or above. During the internship, you may be requested to go to Bakırlıtepe Campus of TUG, which is 2500 meters above sea level, so it’s very important that you don’t have any serious health problems preventing you from working and staying at that altitude. You should also bring boots, sweaters, coats, caps and sunglasses due to highly variable weather conditions at that height. Filling in the application form does not imply that your application will certainly be accepted. Application results will be announced in the second week of May on


Students from outside of Antalya will be able to stay in KYK dormitories located inside Akdeniz University Campus. These dormitories are at walking distance to TUG Administration Building.

  • Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Girls’ Dormitory (on Campus)

  • Muratpaşa Boys’ Dormitory (on Campus)

  • Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Boys’ Dormitory (near Campus)
